PHIL COLLINS WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ...lol

"Listen, you know I love but I just can't take this..." EVERYBODY SING!

I love music! This week I feel like just jamn to the oldies. I was as work today and a Phil Collins song came on when he was in the band Genesis came on and I lost it. This song triggered my old school jams hunt. That song "In too deep" is awesome. A song about a person realizing their relationship is over and they could be the reason for it. I mean it's sad but it still gave me the urge to sing out loud!

Enough about my love of music.  :-)

The Problem with START times

It just hit me I'm a big time future planner and not in a good way. I have tons of goals and about half or less get completed. That is so furstrating! Today I told my self as soon a Septemember hits I'm going to start this project in full force and just yesterday I told my self I would have slow down on my shopping as soon as Septememeber hits. Ugh!... What an ugly pattern. I always tell myself to start or stop something the next month and when that month comes I either forget or cross the idea off the list completely. Another failure on my list of  TO DO's.

So, it dawned on me that I should stop pushing back these goals but just start doing them as it comes to mind if I'm able to do them that is. I mean I still want travel the world but that takes true planning.

Here's some of my brillant ideas:

1.Stop shopping for an entire month. This means no clearance rack shopping either. I guess that means no window shopping. I swear I'm an addict. I can't even be around my tempation....lol Where do I sign  up for the 12 step progam?

There nothing wrong with shopping for me it's that I'm not saving as much as I should and shopping is the reason why. I just need to designate  a certain allowance for this pleasureable hobby.

Since I'm no longer shopping for new or slightly used things I guess I should re-introduce myself to the things I loved so much I had to have them. DUH! I want to wear something  new from my closet everyday. This should really show you my creative side ( RAW and UNCUT). :-)

Clean out that DAMN closet! Why do I still have stuff I hardly ever wear in there anyway? I think I need to do a yard sale or just a plain give away. I guess that's why I have friends and family.

2. Another neglected area is my wonderful hair. For the past 6 months I've been wearing my hair out like it going out of style and it has limited my hair growth.I love my twist outs, braid outs or afro showcased for the world but I'm over it. I have a personal hair growth goal and these 6 months alone have set me back 2 inches. UGH! I need to nurse my hair back to life and that means protective styling like no other. I've decided I will be wearing protective hairstyles for the next few months or longer.

3. My cave. My bedroom. My haven. I need to liven this place up. I bought all the tools to make this room tranquil but haven't made the effort to actually doing it. Pathetic! For next few days that's exactly what i'm going to do.I mean who doesn't want to come home and have it be the place of warmth and beauty. It's start with one corner at a time!

I think these are great starting points. No more starting later. I have to start NOW.

Yes, I know how to use my library card!

For the past two months I've decided to start reading more. I noticed that the only things I would read were magazines and online news media and that's was not going to cut it. I want to try and read a book every two months or so. I read somewhere long ago that the more you read the better your vocabulary would be ... not to sure if that holds any weight.

In June after seeing everyone and I mean EVERYONE reading this book I decided to actually give it a try. I bought " The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" months ago but because the first few chapter never captivated me I put it down. But I revisited the book in June and let me tell you what a great choice! I'm not a complete fan of the gore and horror of the book but it was a great mystery to read minus those pages. I honestly could not put it down. I read everywhere I went, on my way to work, walking to my office, on my lunch, on my way home and in my bed. I truly understand why that book is a bestseller it is wonderfully written.

On this kick to keep this reading bug alive I bought "The Help" in July and started to read it . I'm about half way done and ready to watch the movie. This book is good but not really a page turner like the previous book.

Today, I got the bright idea to go to the library and save my money on buying books. It would be nice to have a book shelf full of books I've read but I rather keep the money in my pocket for the time being. I have a library close to my home and even work so no excuse why I can't just save the money and rent the books. Anyways, I went to the library and picked up two books for the time being. I don't want to go to crazy with books. I picked up Chelsea Handler's book " Are You There, Vodka? It's Me Chelsea" just for a fun read. I don't know about you but she is hilarious on TV and why not read something strictly for laughter.

The second book is by Deepak Chopra, " The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success". My friend D suggested the book awhile back and I never got a chance to get it. I took this opportunity to check it out... That reminds me she still has my earrings. (Note to self make sure to grab them when I go over her house this weekend...lol) I also grabbed a movie. Yes, the library actually carries dvds and get this ....It's FREE"... lol I picked up Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. and I was done at the library.

If you have any book suggestion please let me know!

Til next time~ EP
